Recently, during a conversation with a friend, a topic of Richness came up. I being the fanatic of complicated thoughts; delved into the philosophies and deeper meanings of richness.
Richness is beyond materialism. It is a feeling. It is an emotion. It is satisfaction. Satisfaction which does not importantly be linked directly to attainment of materialistic goals and dreams. You are rich when you are happy. It is the very realization of gratitude.
While I was at it, trying my best to complicatedly define Richness; I sensed my friend's calmness. The fatherly calmness which motivates you to reach the answer my friend already had.
Finally giving up, I bounced back the question to my friend.
So what do you think Rich is!
My friend said, "So far to me rich is the love of staying poor."
I realized how at times, in our effort to define a beautiful concept, we just end up confining it. While I was busy confining it; my friend's simple, to the point definition seems to have liberated such a powerful concept of any adjectives and complicated logics.
We are often mistaken. There are words which have unarguably lost their true meaning and essence in this world. However, you and I in our attempt to explore their true meaning, make it even more complicated. We forget that often, a simple one line definition can possess the power of liberating the word of its distortions and give it back its True Essence.
He who has at least realized the true meaning of Rich, must be the richest of us all already.
